SANTA MARIA, time is just flying.

I'm hoping you all had a wonderful...well not too crazy holiday season. We have had a lot of fun running around, but I think I'm ready for things to slow down. Besides little people being under the weather and having to pay them pretty coins to take their medicine...things have been fun. X has been out of school for almost three weeks and so I'm pretty much...tired. LOL! J still would rather not use the potty, but HEY, whatcha gonna do? The great news is that I've had lots of ideas that POP into my head. Yes, I become like a mad scientist at night creating what I can. My nails are down to nubs, but it's not like anyone is looking. Right?! LOL. I say that about my gray hair too!

Okay, so I have been working on a few things. Annnnddd sometimes I don't get a chance to take photos before they sell. I THINK ABOUT IT. There's only so many photos I can take during the day with the chitlin's in full effect around me. First job Mama...till the sun goes down, then mad scientist. LOL. So, here are a few things I've been working on. Thumbs up, thumbs down...it's all good.

It's Fall y'all=0)

I've been knitting...knitting...knitting. I'm trying to beat the chill. My little kneedles have been banging away non stop. I've been trying to fill up my shop for fall and winter. Hmmm, easier said than done. I'm telling you! A house elf would be SO very handy. I can dream *sigh*. LOL

So, I have a little bit to show you and a little bit to tell you.

First is that I was contacted over the summer by a very lovely gal that was going to be opening up a new store. Did I want to sell my things there?! UUUHHHHH....... OH BOY. I'm not very good at selling my things and she wanted to see them in person. OKAY, the day of my appointment involved A LOT of sweat and jiggly knee caps=0) MINE!!!! LOL.

The Striving Artist has opened and the grand opening is coming up! I'm super excited and *fingers crossed*. If you are local in San Diego and would like to see my pieces in person or other artists wonderful work, you should stop on by.

The first event is....

Now for what I want to show you! Fall and winter knitting now.

Fun wash cloth. These are nice and thick and can take a licking=0P

I love these because they fit most and are great for friends and family with arthritis.

Summer...summer..summer time

Have you been enjoying the summer break?

These last few months have just flown by and now it's getting really warm. The little ones have kept me on my toes...you can imagine what they look like. Santa Maria! I need a pedi STAT!

So, I've been busy with custom orders this summer! I thought I'd show you a few=0)

I have a collection of sea glass that I've been collecting for years and I thought it would be fun to use a few pieces.

This hermosa(beautiful)sterling silver necklace just reminds me of the ocean side. Sterling silver hand stamped with texture work on edges, it just looks gorgeous in person. The whole pendant measures 1.5" x 1". A piece of sea glass that is wrapped behind name plate brings this unique piece to life! Plus three pearls add a little more color.

This one was a custom order.

This next one is for a blushing bride! I loved making this for her=0) She is getting married on the beach. I scribbled up a quick sketch for her and she loved my design. I just can't wait until she shows me a photo of her big day!

I've been working on a lot of custom rings too! These stacks are a lot of fun. Or maybe I just love using my hammer a little too much. I make these all by hand and polish them so they sparkle. I've gotten lots of positive feedback on these. I just sent out a set to Australia...can't wait for her to receive them!

I finally got my studio together!!!! Yes...SAY WHAT???!!!! I've been working in the kitchen all this time. Yep. Coo cooo for coco puffs! I finally got my creative space together. And boy do I need A LOT of lights up in here. I was out of my head trying to get everything figured out. FINALLY!

My space. YEP...door and lock required=0) A big comfy couch too for my knitting. I really don't need to leave...ever. OH yeah, people have got to eat around here. Guess I still gotta fix the meals and wash the dishes. LOL!

I made these mustaches for the kids, but they were over it in 2.5 seconds. I was really enjoying this look and totally respect the CHP for rockin' this look. I was just sweating bullets wearing my Luigi 'stache. However...couldn't take it off.

Even my parents wore them, LOL! X isn't too sure about all this, but the kids got a good laugh watching us=0)

Summer is almost here!

I just had my last class with my little first graders=0) I think they learned a few thing, but hopefully they just had fun. It's interesting that some children by this age already worry about what their drawing looks like. I honestly thought that none of them would be nervous about starting a sketch, but I quickly learned that we needed to drop kick the erasers, lol. The nine months just flew by and now I can potty train J!!!!! AY YAY YAY...don't get me started;o)

So, of course I've still been knitting and I came up with this hat! Wanted to make something mushy and large. Kind of like a deflated chefs hat, lol. VOILA!

Here comes the sun...but the heat....NOT so much. We went to the beach to play in the sand this weekend and brrrrrrrr. People around us were TRYING to pretend it was 85*, but WHOOO LORD it was C O L D. Putting a positive spin on it, it was gorgeous and sunny.

Castles are always fun to make, but J is going to get that great big green ball back there.

LETS SCREAM...IT'S GOOD THERAPY=0)

I'm freezing and I have three layers on, LOL.

OKAY, now they're just taking pictures to show how wimpy I am, lol. It's the icy breeze. SERIOUSLY.

OH, back to some warm talk! I was working on some hammered rings and had an order for another toe ring. It just happened to fit my toe. KEEP IT...SELL IT...KEEP IT....SELL IT? Yep, it's in the mail=0(

I got some of that crackling nail polish on. I don't know how well you can see it, but I thought I'd mention that it's a lot of fun watching it transform. I recommend you use a darker base polish(OPI makes it).

So, besides the potty training business....I need to start a new painting. Not really sure what I want to paint. Maybe I'll go back and revisit some photos of Europe?

Spring is in the air

It's May!

I can't believe it!

We have been planting, planting, planting in the garden. Tomatoes(CHECK), lavender(CHECK), hydrangeas(CHECK). Now if I could keep all the snails and slugs away...that would be very helpful. I've also been busy with special orders. Mother's Day is almost here! Only about 7wks until school ends...amazing. I'm not really sure what big plans we have, but X sure does=0)

Here is a stack of fine silver rings for Mother's Day. These are a lot of fun to make=0)

This is one of my favorites for little girls. Perfect for Spring and Summer fun=0)

I've been wanting to make this hat for myself for a while. I made it in a toddler size first and then adults wanted it! I was happy that I wasn't the only one that liked this style, lol. I've been looking for something casual that would cover all my gray hair! It always turns out that my hair needs to be re done and I have an appointment somewhere and I just can wear a bandana, LOL. So here it is and I make it a little loose, so you don't get hat head. There are also lots of holes, so your head can breathe=0) Can you tell that I've given this project a lot of thought? LOL.

Here's a 1920's hat that I just love. I have a hat like this and every time I wear it I get asked about it=0) I'm so glad I finally found a hat that works for me. I always felt very awkward wearing a hat, but I guess 2011 is the year of the hat for me, lol.

March MADNESS

SWEET CHEEKS! It's been too long, but what a month it's been. Just when I thought everyone was healthy...NOPE! Lets do it again for the love of the game! So can you believe one had croup...then another bronchitis...and then back to the croup with the other...AND THEN I GOT THE FLU~! OY, come on! Does it sound like I'm complaining? OH SORRy...I'm so blessed, LOL!!! We made it and I'm so thankful for that. I honestly thought we'd just keep going round and round and my husband escaped it all! WOW. Thank GOD he found a job, so he's back at work and out of the house=0) LOL!

So, I have a lot to show you. I've still been busy creating all sorts of things and working with my 55 little 1st graders. Hope you enjoy the photos I've been saving up=0)

First up....MARLEY. This is my girlfriends dog. He's SO SUPER CUTE and I just had to paint a watercolor of him for J's room. She LOVES animals and loved a photo she saw of him.

Next up is a crochet project. I usually have J model, but she won't do it anymore...boo. Luckily, her teddy bear doesn't fight with me.

The fingerless gloves. It's still chilly out there and I'm in California! I'm not complaining...just letting you know=0) These are a lace pattern that shifts to the left. I really like these. I originally made a pair for myself, but I ended up giving them to my mama. She has arthritis really badly and her hands have really...changed. She can't wear gloves...they WILL NOT fit her. So she uses these all the time and even gardens with them. I'm so happy they have helped her and she can garden even when it's chilly in the morning.

Here is J flying a kite for the first time! This is just before she let go and guess who almost broke their leg stopping it and then climbing up a hill to get it out of a tree?! OY, we left after that. They were not our kites!!!!! There were these other kids that were sweet enough to share, but just about burst out screaming while I was running up hill with my bag and the kids lunch box. MARCH MADNESS, LOL!

It's been a BIG month!

I've been so busy with my family and a week break and sickness and my birthday!

WHA' ??????!!!!!!!!!

It's true and it was a big one this year.

Okay, I'll fill you in on everything=0)

First of all...my blogging time is still super short since I've been volunteering as the art teacher. It's been super busy with both classes, but the kids are having fun!

Here we are at school doing a JUMP a Thon!

My little X is still learning to jump rope, so this was JUST before the tears of frustration.

I started working on some new styles for Spring!

It's always so tough to get great photos. I've got to do it right before I pick up X from school and my little five finger bandit LOOOOVVESSS to grab and run. So, it's been VERY rushed and I honestly can't help but crack up. What can I possibly do with a 2yr old as a personal photography assistant. LOL!

Six watercolor bracelet is back!

I originally made these when I started Cielo Azul Jewelry in 2009. I sold about eight and I was ready to move on, LOL! I thought I'd bring it back 2011 style, lol. It's got what every gardener loves and everything is still alive...in case you have a brown thumb;o)

NOW...FOR THE BIRTHDAY PART!

I turned 40 this year. Yep, so I got a hair cut! I had someone come up to me and ask if I had hair extensions, LOLLLLLLLLL! So I didn't get a chance to get a hair cut last year. OMG, isn't that SO crazy? OKAY, so I had a very small party this year. I originally planned on having about 25-30 people, but my husband lost his job and so the budget had to be cut WAY back. I had been planning this parTAY for a while, so I still wanted it to be super fun. So, this was what I had to do. First of all I wanted to have a party that was all about what I like and how I've changed/not changed over the last 40 years. I love to dance! And I think I can make it on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, LOL. Yep, I so can not make it...but I can dream. I started the party with my girls and DANCE!!!! We had a private class with THEeeee KJ Gonzales. I can not confirm NOR deny that this isn't me in the video, lol. I can not confirm NOR deny that my crew and I didn't learn this EXACT routine, LOL. Some way...some how nobody took photos. I personally think he was impressed with our hip hop moves=0) After our class our dates met us for cocktails and a lovely dinner.

I just want to say one thing....I have not had so much fun in I don't know how long. I'm SO thankful to have such great friends.

I Love a Parade!

Buenos dias!

I'm hoping you are all doing well today. February 1st! I can't believe it...can you?

I have a few fun pictures to share with you all. Every year since 1890 they have a lovely Rose Parade in Los Angeles. Yes, THE Rose Parade! It has been a wonderful tradition for our family to watch it in person. My husbands family has been going to this parade for SO many years. I remember the first time I went as their guest...when we were dating. It seems like that was 30 yrs ago, LOL!!!!! I was just so thrilled to go and the whole experience was so wonderful. The floats in person are just...well GORGEOUS. To see them in person is something I think everyone should see at least once in your life. To read more about the history of The Rose Parade...it's pretty interesting to read the history of this big event.

Here is just a glimpse of the parade.

These horses are SO larger than life. They are absolutely gorgeous.

Pac Man fever!

X was thrilled to see this band. I love seeing all these bands that have worked so hard to make it to this event. They all have these great stories of ALL the things they had to over come to make it here. You can also see how thrilled they are to be here...FINALLY.

Here is Pac Man just before he popped up for everyone. Can you believe that this whole float is covered in flowers and seed?! It's incredible to imagine how many hours it took. There are people that volunteer EVERY year to do this. For some families it's a tradition to do this!

The best part is that it's a family tradition and look who is just amazed. We started taking X when he was 3yrs old. We were SO worried that he would want to leave after two minutes, lol. Once you get in your seat, it's difficult to get out quickly. So, when you have little ones it can be challenging. The first year...he was in a state of awe. The WHOLE two hours he did not move at ALL! We were so shocked and thrilled. He just knows that January 1st...we PARADE. Visit with family and this year he went to the Rose Bowl Game. I haven't been since I had J, but I think 2012 will be the first year for her. I REALLY MISS GOING, but I'm so happy that my boys have been going.

I thought I'd show you all my newest pieces. I just saw the movie Alice and Wonderland and I was inspired! All the colors just hypnotized me and Johnny Depp was such a great Mad Hatter. I also have been noticing cute puppies around town and other fun things. This year I wanted to make some yummy MAD tea party goodies. Maybe it will inspire you to host a silly tea party. OFF WITH THEIR HEADS! LOL! I'm starting to think that I need to have my own very soon=0)

This fun ring is an original hand painted watercolor of a cup of hot chocolate with whip cream. It makes for a fun conversation piece and it may make you want to whip one up real quick=0)

I sealed the painting with resin to protect it from water.

I used Grumbacher Artists' Watercolors for these rings.

A whole year has gone by and I just realized it's my anniversary=0)

I guess I need to give something away, LOL!

First of all, I want to thank ALL my friends that leave comments. I know there are a lot of wonderful blogs that everyone loves to read. Leaving a comment takes your precious time and I just want to thank my regulars. It's been fun getting to know you and your families and your comments make me SO happy.

One of my family members has a family beach house near Santa Cruz, CA. It's a great place to get away for the weekend.

I have tons of trees around my house and there are always birds tweeting away all day. Sometimes I feel like I'm camping...but in a house, LOL!

Yes, I had one in the 80's and most of my friends did too. The funniest part is remembering my girlfriends brother walked with us all the way to the park with one on his shoulder. LOL!!! We were SO cool, lol.

How have your holidays been?

I have had a busy month, but mostly knitting. LOL! Seems like I never stop during this time of year. I finished my sweater and wore it on Christmas day. If you are curious what it looks like, you can visit my Facebook page and I have a snap shot of it. I haven't had a chance to take a proper photo...oops. I've mostly been trying to get organized for 2011!!!! Ay yay yay, I can't believe it. I've also been trying to get some new ideas for my 2011 jewelry. I've had sort of a creative block! I usually get my ideas during the early morning...like when I'm just waking up. There has been a problem with all that. I've been waking up late and the kids are already saying, "Mama!!!!!!!". SO, no ideas. Oy, it's quite a problem;o) I thought I'd post a couple of photos of projects that have popped in my coconut and I also wanted to let you all know I'm still here...just getting organized.

The long sleeve. I have VERY long arms! I don't know about you, but most of the time I'm trying to pull my sleeves down. I got a new zip up fuzzy jacket, but the sleeves are too short for me. It's not a problem anymoooooorrreee. I put these on first and then my jacket. It's a very toasty situation now=0)

40 & Fabulous

Buenos dias!

I've been working on a new sketch.

One of my GREAT friends turned 40 and I wanted to make her a watercolor portrait.

I am just now starting to work on faces. I've always stayed away from them....very difficult to get everything just right. My art teacher would make me do three faces in a row and they would always looks SO different. We would burst out laughing, LOL! So, here we go!!!

The hardest part is getting the correct distance of eyes, nose, mouth. At least for me, lol.

Also, I've found the more I sketch shadows...the easier it is to paint and remember where darker paint should go. This way you don't keep working the same spot. Working the same spot leaves a "muddy" look. The muddy look makes me totally LOCA!!!!!

I first used pencil and watercolor pencils for the sketch. Now I added watercolor paint. Now, I like to let it dry before I make the final details.

Are you ready? Me...not so much, lol. I've been knitting away, but I still have one more sleeve before I can finish my long sweater. I finished up a few fun projects that I've been working on.

HOLA Sweet Cheeks!

I can tell by visiting your blogs that everyone has been busy this Fall. I've had a lot of activities and projects I've been working on, so I've got a lot of photos to share.

I FINALLY FINISHED THIS MEMORY QUILT!

My darling friend just had her 4th little one and I wanted to give her something special. This has quilted squares and 100% cotton knitted squares. I had a lot of fun printing these photos on material and adding them to the top.

FELIZ DIA DE LOS MUERTOS! I didn't grow up enjoying this holiday, but they celebrated it at X's school. We had a lot of fun celebrating and remembering our loved ones that have passed.

Pan de los muerto(day of the dead bread). We just painted dough with food coloring. X had a lot of fun=0)

This is the alter at school. The kids really loved and respected this area. You know how hard it can be to control all those little curious fingers.

Back at home we had fun painting our pumpkins.

We ended up with a VERY colorful pumpkin and a ghost pumpkin.

Yesterday, we spent the day in Capistrano.

First, we had to have a push up pop for extra energy;0)

Now for the Petting Zoo!

This was a lot of fun for all the kids. Playing in corn!

X was happy to play after he fed all the bunnies, then later the goats and sheep. I would of gotten some photos, but the animals were very hungry and would jump on you looking for food. It was VERY funny, but a little crazy too. LOL!

Here we are! It was warmer than I thought, but we had a lot of fun.

I really see that I need to work on my posture, LOL!

Now for the beach! We ended up going on a long walk on a trail to the pier.

It was a nice day, but then we still had to walk back to the car! LOL! Usually, I don't mind, but I was wearing leather boots. We made it back and I only had two blisters and possibly one corn on top of my baby pinky toe, lol.

Thanksgiving is just around the corner...can you believe it? I'm looking forward to a big HOT meal. We all have so much to be thankful for and a slice of pie will be nice too!

Today I looked at my hands!

Every day...they work so hard and do they ever get a thank you?

Nope.

I'm always just trying to figure out a way to make them work harder. Why do we do this to ourselves? Am I the only one...I really don't think so.

I've noticed that since I'm not in the "business world" anymore, I've never worked harder. I'm so thankful that I get to raise my children myself, but WHEW, it's a lot of work. Of course, that is not all they do. The list could go on and on, but I just wanted to thank my little fingers today. I wanted to forever remember them and be thankful that I have all ten.

I also wanted to remind myself...YOU'VE ONLY GOT TWO!

I hope you are enjoying the season. We are having a wonderful fall and we are trying to squeeze everything in, LOL! Who doesn't think going to a pumpkin patch will get you right into the mood? This was really fun and J took a wonderful nap after(yay for me!).

Mickey & Minnie.....what?!!! What a pleasant surprise.

How many stamps stations can we find? OHHHH, you can only imagine how much black ink I had all over both my hands....J still needs to work on stamping ON the actual paper, lol.

Here is the picture of the Fall project all my little artists finished.

Here is what we worked on today. They are stained glass coloring book pages. We first used markers and then crayons and finally paint/glitter. The kids had a lot of fun and now we just need to tape them to the window and WOW!!!

Hola!

It's been Africa hot and guess who has been acting like it's been just fine?

I've got things to do! Is it really that dangerous to go jogging while there is thunder and lightning? COME ON! LOL. Don't worry...I survived=0)

I started the tree at school this week, yipee!

It's all made out of craft paper. They sell it at Michael's by the roll. This took up almost the whole roll. There are several layers for the trunk, so it wouldn't look flat and boring. I twisted and stapled on the branches and also bought the same colored duct tape. Hopefully, it will still be standing in a week when we do the project, lol. I used the tape to secure the top branches to the ceiling(*fingers crossed*).

I then painted using your basic brown paint and black paint. I put a layer of black in all the cracks first and then went over the whole trunk with a basic brown and occasionally adding a little black to it. I also mixed in some gold glitter...for the sparkle effect.

I HEART SPARKLES!

And for the SUPER cute effect....baby owl is playing peek a boo.

So, the kids will be drawing two leaves and then coloring them with two colors that compliment each other.

I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THIS TREE AND AREA AROUND IT FULL OF LEAVES!!!

Sorry, I'm a little excited about this, lol.

Here is the color wheel I will show them...in case you are wondering what I'm talking about.

Red compliments green.

Orange compliments blue.

Purple compliments yellow.

The leafs are going to look so colorful=0)

This blue baby is Boston bound! Just in time...you know how crazy cold it gets there.

And I also finished this multi-colored fall neck warmer. The color is just lovely.

I'm SO sweet on Fall=0)

I LOVE this time of year. Could it be because it's so colorful? Is it because I really want to wear boots again? LOL!

Here is a new necklace with three watercolor charms. There is Coral, Agate, glass, ceramic, and I used copper and brass chain.

I'm excited to wear this sweater I made about 5yrs ago. I can smell Fall in the air!

I've been knitting, knitting, knitting! I just finished this CHUNKY neck warmer. Would it be wrong to just keep this one for myself? LOL! I don't think my accountant would understand, LOL!

Beside knitting, I've been volunteering at my son's school. Guess who is teaching art? First graders + art= A LOT of fun.

My next project with them is going to be painting fall leaves! I'm going to explain to them what colors compliment each other and we will study the color wheel. Each child will then draw three leaves and color them using two colors that compliment each other. I'm going to built a LARGE tree made out of brown paper and guess where all the leaves will go. We will put some on the tree and some will look like they are swirling around the room! I even got a super cute owl to hide in the tree=0) I'm having a lot of fun teaching!

Wedding bells ring

Hola!

This weekend we went to Manhattan Beach for a lovely wedding and to visit family. My parents were sweet enough to watch X & J, so we could get away. I've got plenty of pictures to show you... so SPF 50 will do!

Can you smell the ocean breeze? Just in time for lunch!

I really wish my back yard could look like this. A guitar player for fun events wouldn't hurt either, LOL. He played such calm music, it was so nice.

This fountain is just the right size and I just loved the brick.

The inside was so beautiful. I love hydrangeas and baby blue/cream colored bows on the chairs. I also couldn't wait for a piece of that cake in the back ground!!!! I was VERY happy because it was big enough for me to get seconds, LOL!!!

So I was finally able to take a few pictures of my early paintings that I've given away as gifts.

This one is about four years old! It's very large and took me about 4 months to complete. It's funny to see how my stroke technique has changed. I also remembered it darker, LOL! I also made a BIG mistake....can you see it? Something is missing=0)

This watercolor is almost 8 years old and one of my very firsts. Sorry there is so much reflections on the glass. This was the best I could do. The matte is actually a dark blue and it's on a yellow wall. I love the way it's on display in the family room=0)

I had a super fun family breakfast just before we drove home. Anything that includes hash browns and a truck load of crunchy bacon will always bring a smile to my face, LOL!

BUENOS DIAS!!!

Hope you are all feeling well this morning. We are trying to figure out how this month has just flown by. LOL!

Feliz cumpleanos J! Look at her wanting to use the ice cream scooper for the cake, lol.

J started preschool. She is only there an hour/2 days a week, but here she goes!

My son cried and cried and cried, so I was a little nervous. Luckily, this was just the "getting to know you" visit. I stayed with her to take plenty of pictures and to make sure she didn't karate chop anyone, lol.

She loved going up these stairs.

Yeah...now come hold my hand. She flew off the slide the first time...poor thing.

Running on the hay stacks was fun but....

these tubes were SO much fun for everyone.

“Model of the Month” May 2009 Lana Grossa

I started a new sweater for myself! I've been wanting to make a long one for years. Yes, I'm a little loca! This is going to take 1400 yards of yarn. I found some wool/silk blend, yummy! It's super soft and light. The pattern has been challenging, so I've already re started it 5 times, but I'm moving along now(thank you JESUS).

LOVE!

Now if I could just use a magic wand to finish it NOW, lol.

Here is my latest custom order that I just finished. I used an aqua silk chord, so she can change the length. Chinese Azurite, glass, sterling silver, and one small crystal. I deliver it tomorrow...hope she LOVES it=0)

It's finally starting to feel like summer around here! You are probably wondering why I'm mentioning fall....right?

I'm not LOCA Sweet Cheeks!

Fall is just around the corner and it is my favorite season. Yes, yes....all the COLORS.

It's also because so much is going on this week. I just wanted to give you a quick recap of what I've been working on.

First up.....

A quilted memory/photo blanket. I've got all the squares almost ready for the final stitching. They are all stuffed and now I just need to sew the open side. I think I might knit several chocolate squares, just to give a different texture. The photos have already been printed on material, but they will go on last. This is a gift, so that's why I'm not showing the pictures right now, LOL!

Up next....

I just finished a custom order for a sterling silver, double dangle glass necklace. It's about 17" around the neck, but the dangle part adds another 1.5". This is for a repeat client that always just lets me do whatever I want. Yes! She tells me what color she wants and then she lets me do AN Y T H I NG! Gloria Divina!

Hope she loves it!

And finally...

THIS IS THE REASON THAT FALL IS IN THE AIR.

I've started the locura(craziness) of THE COWL/NECK WARMER.

Quick....funny....story!

Last Christmas I couldn't think of what to get my mother in law. We were on a tight budget, but I wanted to get her something nice and that she could REALLY use. So, this is what I came up with, but in bright orange! I used a silk/wool, that of course was the most expensive on the planet, LOL! I saw it and it was perfect. GULP.....when I looked at the price, but it had to be done(PUNTO!). That means PERIOD! Well, I posted the picture of me wearing it on my Cielo Azul Jewelry Facebook page. SANTA MARIA!!!!!!! I couldn't make those things fast enough. People just loved that you throw this perrito on and then run out the door. No need to tuck in a scarf and wrap it around your cabeza 20 times, LOL. So, this year....I'm hoping that I make enough for the Christmas season.

I better get back to knitting!

Hola Sweet Cheeks!

Summer is almost over for us, so I just had to try my best to take some time off. I can't go lounge by the pool with two little ones, so I've been catching up on my reading at night. Don't fall out of your seats when I say that I haven't been working at night, LOL! SI, the jewelry has not been out....knitting kneedles are in their case....painting brushes are dry. I finished reading Twenty Wishes by Debbie Macomber and The Choice by Nicholas Sparks. I really enjoyed both books and it felt like I had some time away to just sit there=0)

So, back to being busy this week!

X is starting school this week and it's his birthday. We decided to have a day of fun in the sun to celebrate X's cumpleanos.

The day was gorgeous and there was so much fun stuff going on.

Papa- It's going to be high of 68* and cloudy at Legoland waterpark. It's been 77yrs since July in San Diego was this...COOL(he's reading the Union-Tribune). You see this little boy shivering at Legoland waterpark.

Me-Lets see what else we can do. The last time I was wet and freezing for 3hrs, brrrrr.

X-Okay, lets see what else we can do. Lets go to Disneyland!!!!

Hola friends!

We were so happy to have been inviting to a fun summer birthday party.

My girlfriend has her own cake business and she makes such great cakes. If you saw my post about my extravaganza, she made my butterfly cake(Casa de cupcake).

This dinosaur party was for her son....so you know the cake was going to be OUT OF THIS WORLD!

I didn't go in, but X had a blast!

It was a really fun summer party. I can't believe this is the last week of summer vacation for X. It was a great night for a summer party=0)

Hola mi Cielo! I hope you all had a lovely week. I've had a busy one and I finally decided that I needed to work on a new painting! Usually, I work on paintings that I can finish up in a night, but this time......I've got a serious situation, LOL! I've been dreaming of EuropA! HIJOLE! I've been looking through old photos and I came across one that I remember saying I was going to paint. One problemO........it's going to take a while. Look at all those stones! Gorgeous. This was on a Sunday, in the South of France. One of my brother in laws lives there(LUCKY DUCKY). This was on the walk back from lunch.......YES......the walk back from lunch... to their house. So, I started running up the steps and it hit me!!!! STOP...GO BACK...TAKE PHOTO. LOL!!!

Take a minute to really look at EVERYTHING. The stones, bushes, the shutters....WOW! The only thing that is missing is the Nutella, LOL!

Here we go... First, I need to balance everything on my paper. I have made a few changes. Lets see if you notice=0)

Getting things done... day by day. You can only imagine how many hours I've been working on this, LOL.

My baby just took her first breath.

I started painting last night. How many different greens do you think I used? I started the wash on the bottom stones, but they will still need more. With watercolor.....there are MANY layers(lucky me). I paint....I wait....evaluate...and add more paint. I have no idea how long this painting will take, but I have to take my time. One day, I hope that they invent a watercolor eraser, LOL!

I hope you like my project. I will do a part DEUX, when I finish.

For now, think of me the next time you have a little Nutella=0)

Hey, Sweet Cheeks! First, I had to show you a custom order I just finished.

Fine Silver Starfish Ring.

Hope she LOVES it=0)

Now......I just had to make myself some dressed up flip flops this summer.

I picked up some flip flops and started looking through all my semi-precious stones.

Smokey quartz.

Lucidite, Aqua Marine chips, and I can't remember the name of the green one...OY! All I remember is the price....HIJOLE!

I wired them up and then hand stitched them on the flip flop.

Hope they stay on, LOL!!!

I'm ready to flippidy flop around town now=0)

Hola! Hope everyone is having a lovely week=0)

If you read my last post, I mentioned there was a sale on Monday at my favorite bead shop. Did I go that day???? Nope, LOL! I R E A L L Y wanted to, but......I have these little monsters that dominate my schedule. LOL! So, I went the next day and picked up some fine silver. I had a design in my head and I just had to make it, PRONTO. So, first I made the large link chain and J woke up from her nap early. Boo! I hardly ever work during the day, but this time I knew this necklace would take more time than usual.

I didn't polish the chain too much. I like it to look a little rough. My favorite thing about fine silver, is that it never turns black.

Hermosa.

This means beautiful.

This chain measures about 20" in length and I also added a few inches of sterling silver chain. I added some fun detail to the edge of the tag.

There are aquamarine chips, crystals, and stone.

A little wishbone for good luck=0)

I had a little silver left, sooooo.....

I made a fun ring! What do you see?

Hola Sweet Cheeks! Hope you all had a fun weekend....full of madness. We sure could use some ear plugs over here=0) Today is really like a Sunday, but it's really Monday....right? LOL! My Love is off today, so what will we do today? Hmmmmm...

I'm trying to decide if I should go buy some more fine silver. You see...they are having a 4th of July sale, but you know I'm gonna come out of there with WAY too much, LOL! Hola Sweet Cheeks! Is summer over yet?! LOL! I've been working on a couple of quilted watercolor key chains. What do you think? They are about 4"x 2" and are about 5mm thick. This one is an original watercolor of flower petals. See the cute little lady bug on the edge?

These original watercolors are set in resin with a hint of glitter. The pendant is about 1.5" around. I had a private showing , so only the Hydrangea Keychain is in my Etsy shop.

This one is the Hydrangea Key Chain. See the little leaf below the pendant? I tried to get a little fancy with the swirly stitching, LOL! I may rough up the edges of the material under the pendant. We shall we....heeehee.

So, my other job has been a little hectic lately....... X and I went back to the beach for some, "fun in the sun". We grab some lunch and enjoy the sounds of the ocean. Most of my days are VERY........ahhhhhh....loud. LOL! So, it was a lot of fun to get back to the beach.

It was time to figure out how to set up some "boobie traps". Yes, he always comes up with fun stuff=0)

That bird kept flying by us.....a little too low, LOL!

Summer Pieces

It's summer time and I've been working my fingers to the bone(not really). Here are a few pieces that I have completed so far.

I used all original watercolors of shells, star fish, and a hydrangea for the small charms. Sliced Agate and one Druzy Agate for the main pendant. I always have to throw in the sparkly stuff too! I'm Latina and Italian, it's a law, LOL! Crystals, stone, glass, and gold brushed beads(HIJOLE!).

Heart of the ocean

Hola Sweet Cheeks! I've been away.......My Abuelita(grandmama)passed. I went up north to celebrate her life. So, I kissed the babes goodbye and met up with family and friends. I'm just so lucky that my Abuelita was around for 92 years.

I also met up with a great friend from high school. She wanted to learn to wire wrap a ring, so we visited her bead shop. There were so many lovely things, but I picked this stone. My husband called it, "heart of the ocean". LOL! This ring is going to remind me of my Abuelita. I'm so happy that she passed away with SO many loved ones around her.

When I returned home, we went to visit my in-laws to celebrate Father's Day and many birthdays. They had moved a year ago and have now moved back! Everyone really missed this house. This home was built in 1896!!!! I LOVE this house and all the details inside. So, I thought I'd show you a little bit of it=0)

A year ago, we all sat on these steps for one last picture......we thought, LOL!

I love all the plants and hydrangeas in the front yard.

I LOVE shutters.

I really think this sunroom is so pretty.

Out back all the kids were having a fun time.
